Nikki Glaser makes her parents APOLOGIZE for their ‘gross’ comment about Julia Roberts and Travis Kelce at Eras concert
Nikki Glaser is demanding her parents apologize for their bad take on Julia Roberts’ interaction with Travis Kelce at Sunday’s Taylor Swift show in Dublin, Ireland.
‘Uh oh,’ the comedian, 40, captioned a since-expired Instagram Story screenshot of a news story about her parents’ remarks on Tuesday, writing: ‘My parents are going to issue an apology soon.’
The controversy arose from Nikki’s – who defended her jokes at the Tom Brady roast – mom Julie and dad Edward reacting to footage of the Steel Magnolias actress, 56, affectionately touching Kelce’s, 34, chest while talking to him.
‘She’s so gross,’ Julie said, adding that it was ‘weird’ that the actress was ‘itching’ the athlete’s chest.
Edward agreed, saying that Kelce was ‘trying to get away’ from Roberts.
‘She’s trying to French kiss him right now!’ Julie went on, adding: ‘Just kidding. She would.’
On Tuesday, Julie admitted that she ‘should’ve said something different than the word gross’ in an apology video via Nikki’s Instagram Story.
‘It’s not a nice word. … So, I’m issuing an apology right now for using the word — but I think it was really weird.’
Julie went on to say that she ‘meant to say just weird, not [gross] and weird.’ Edward added in that it was ‘too late’ to take back her comments.
In the social media footage of Roberts and Kelce, the Oscar winner simply told the Super Bowl champion that she was happy for him and Taylor.
But despite the controversy, the trio had a good time at the concert, which was Nikki’s 13th (Swift’s favorite number) Eras show.
‘This was my 13th show. And the best part for me is always the reveal,’ Nikki captioned an Instagram Story video of Swift’s entrance at the beginning of the show on Monday.
‘My dad cried when we all cheered for her after Champagne Problems,’ she wrote alongside a photo of her dad tearing up.
‘How cute is this,’ she wrote.
Stevie Nicks, 76, was seated next to Roberts and Kelce in the VIP tent for Sunday’s concert.
Swift gave the Rhiannon a shout-out before performing the the Tortured Poets Department track Clara Bow — which features Nicks’ name in the lyrics.
‘She’s become friends with so many female artists just to be a guiding hand. I can’t tell you how rare that is,’ she told the audience.
‘She’s a hero of mine and also someone I could tell her any secret [and] she’d never tell anybody. She’s really helped me through so much over the years. I’m talking about Stevie Nicks,’ Swift gushed.
