“Taylor the comedian that you are” – What the Popstar recently did with Travis Kelce in her Ex-Boyfriend Joe Alwyn’s hometown is an ODD Diss Move…Joe might regret dating the singer after this diss
We were almost too distracted by Taylor Swift’s royal selfies to notice that the pop star just hard-launched Travis Kelce on Instagram.
On June 22, Swift wished Prince William a happy birthday by sharing a group photo she took with his kids at the first London Eras Tour concert the previous evening. “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start ,” she casually captioned a snap with the Prince of Wales, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. You know who was also in the photo? Travis Kelce in a full-on Team USA Olympic hat.
Would you believe me if I told you this is the first time Swift’s boyfriend of 10 months has been posted to her Instagram? It certainly doesn’t feel true. After all, photos of the pair have been posted on other people’s grids since October 2023. Plus, Kelce has been featured on Swift’s TikTok page and made an appearance in her “Fortnight” recap for YouTube Shorts.
Despite how much Traylor content the pair have delivered since their IRL hard-launch in September 2023, fans were delighted by her “unhinged” decision to go Instagram-official alongside the royal family. “I know [Charlotte] is literally a PRINCESS, but being a part of Taylor and Travis’ hard launch would be my onlyy personality trait going forward,” one fan wrote on X.com.
One fan even pointed out that Swift happened to choose her ex-boyfriend’s hometown for this digital milestone. Prior to dating the NFL superstar, Swift was in a six-year relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn, who grew up in North London. The couple split around April 2023, with reports suggesting Alwyn “struggled” with Swift’s level of fame.
After the breakup news went public, Swift briefly embarked on a month-long romance with London-born musician Matty Healy in June, and you can hear all about that era on The Tortured Poets Department (allegedly).
Suddenly Swift’s latest post of Kelce wearing a Team USA hat alongside members of the British royal family is starting to feel pretty cheeky. “Taylor the comedian that you are,” X.com user @labyrinthchorus wrote on June 22.
Earlier this month Alwyn spoke about their relationship for the first time since the split. “I understand people’s curiosity,” the 33-year-old actor told The Sunday Times when asked if he’s listened to TTPD. “I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years. That is a hard thing to navigate. What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, it’s suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in.”
He continued, “So you have something very real suddenly thrown into a very unreal space: tabloids, social media, press, where it is then dissected, speculated on, pulled out of shape beyond recognition. And the truth is, to that last point, there is always going to be a gap between what is known and what is said. I have made my peace with that.”
Taylor Swift still has two more Wembley performances before she’s off to Dublin for her next batch of of European tour dates. However, she’ll make her way back to Alwyn’s hometown for five more shows at the end of August before taking a few months off. So far London has already brought us Kylie and Jason Kelce’s first Eras Tour appearance, selfies with the royal family, and friendship-bracelet-swaps with Nicola Coughlan. Who else can’t wait to see what happens next?
