Kylie Kelce reveals how she unwinds after a long day of cheering on her NFL husband Jason Kelce as she detailed her go-to routine to stay in shape – “mom shutdown technique”
Kylie Kelce has revealed how she unwinds after a long day of cheering on her NFL husband, Jason, as she detailed how she stayed in shape during football season – and her plans to go watch ‘Uncle Trav’ at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The 31-year-old mom-of-three and WAG opened up about her diet – including what she likes to munch on while watching her hubby, 36, play – and why she will be prioritizing a ‘mom shutdown’ ahead of the big game this weekend.
Kylie lifted the lid on how she stays active by taking a long walk to ‘clear her head’ and get away from the chaos of the football season.
The mom to three daughters – Wyatt, four, Ellie, two, and Bennett, 11 months – explained that she tries to set a good example for her children by showing them that no matter how busy she gets, she always stays active.
She detailed her relatable daily routine in an interview with Eating Well.
She said: ‘I do like a little “mom shutdown” and I have the babysitter come a little bit earlier in the morning.
‘Then I actually go and walk for quite some distance just to clear my head. Sometimes I’ll answer emails while I’m walking.’
Kylie explained that she loves her daily walks because it allows her to ‘take a step back’ and get some ‘energy out.’
The mom-of-three noted that going outside without her children helps her build in time for herself.
‘I also think that it’s a good example for our girls that I’m going out to exercise and making sure that activity is part of our day,’ she added.
She revealed that she always laces up her favorite pair of Asics sneakers before heading out on a long walk.
She let fans in on the food she always looks forward to indulging in on game days.
‘My go-to in the stadium is probably [Chickie’s and Pete’s] Crabfries. Or the braided pretzels, they’re so good,’ she told the outlet.
Kylie also revealed her go-to snack when she isn’t at the stadium and is watching Jason’s game from the comfort of her home.
She told Eating Well: ‘At home, I would say probably a tomato pie, and if you want to get more specific, a Carlino’s tomato pie — big fan. But then the best way to balance out all of the salty snacks is having a couple Lindor truffles.
‘I think the best thing about this sort of idea of adding them to your game-day spread is that all of the snacks you talk about for game day are usually salty or savory, so to add in a little pop of chocolaty bliss is perfection.’
The mom-of-three revealed that she refuses to cut anything out of her diet and focuses on eating her favorite foods in moderation.
Although the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t make it to the Super Bowl this year, Kylie and Jason revealed they would still be heading to Sin City to support Kansas City Chief’s tight end and Jason’s brother, Travis.
Yesterday, the mom-of-three gave detailed her plans – adding that she wouldn’t be taking her children to Las Vegas.
She revealed that her three daughters will be watching ‘Uncle Trav’ from home on Sunday and she will join her husband in Las Vegas to watch Super Bowl LVIII in person.
Speaking to People, the mom-of-three admitted that some of her plans with Jason in Sin City are ‘still up in the air.’
One thing that is set in stone, however, is the couple’s three daughters are staying put in the Philadelphia suburb of Haverford Township to cheer on Travis Kelce – Taylor Swift’s beau, who also happens to be their uncle.
‘They will be at home,’ Kylie said of her kids, while collaborating with premium chocolatier Lindt as the Swiss brand debuts its first-ever Super Bowl ad, explaining that she prefers to keep them in a safe environment, ‘as long as dad’s not playing.’
‘I think it’s a little bit controversial even during regular season games, I don’t take the girls to every game. They’re still very young,’ Kylie pointed out. ‘A stadium with thousands of people can be overwhelming and there’s three of them. It can get hectic, it’s just a lot.’
Kylie, who praised Taylor after meeting her last month, said that her girls will only attend public events if it is deemed within their best interests.
‘I love to do things that set them up for success. The thought of traveling cross-country with them [while] Jason’s going to be super busy, and putting them in maybe a stressful environment, isn’t ideal,’ she said.
