Everyone’s Ripping Chiefs Owner For Cheap Treatment Of Players – You won’t believe the SHOCKING Amount Top Players like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes were paid after winning Super Bowl
The NFLPA survey of players revealed a number of interesting tidbits about how the players feel about their bosses, with Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt emerging as the least liked owner in the league.
In a follow-up report by ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, NFLPA President J.C. Tretter explained that Hunt was rated the lowest due to a reported lack of follow-through on promises. Specifically, Tretter highlighted a complaint that the team pledged to make upgrades to the Chiefs’ locker room after last year’s Super Bowl win, only to be rewarded with “new chairs.”
“NFLPA president JC Tretter says Chiefs owner Clark Hunt was lowest-graded NFL owner because there was a lack of follow through on promises. For example, Tretter says, the team was promised a renovated locker room. When they returned this season — after winning the Super Bowl — only new chairs were added. Players were told they “went too far in the playoffs” and they didn’t have time to renovate,” Pryor wrote.
As you might expect, that didn’t go over well with fans who believe that Hunt made way too much money off of the Taylor Swift factor this year to short-change the team on anything.
“It’s a BAD look ownership. Spend the damn money. The “ Taylor” effect was unreal this year on the chiefs bottom line,” one user replied.
“Legitimately embarrassing. Cheapo Clark is real and alive folks,” wrote another.
“Clark Hunt is a brilliant owner from a football perspective. He hired the right coach and the right GM and just stays out of their way. He’s excellent at that. But everybody knows he’s just as much a penny pincher as his dad was. $15 billion net worth and he’s cheap as it gets,” a third wrote.
It sounds like Hunt needs to open up the wallet in order to get into fans’ good graces.
